"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world."
Harriet Tubman
Priscilla strongly believes in creating opportunities for other minorities to succeed. In medical school, she created the first annual free summer SAT course for local underprivileged and under-represented minority high school students. Priscilla also met with local MAPS, Minority Association of Pre- Medical Students, members to offer guidance on medical school application and admissions. As a Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellow, she was instrumental in creating an internship program in the research department at the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Occupational Medicine, Department of Medicine by recruiting MAPS and SNMA, Student National Medical Association (current and future underrepresented minority medical students), students. Priscilla believes that the future of an equitable healthcare system is contingent upon a more diverse field of healthcare providers. She is committed to mentoring future minority physicians.
